About Us

The Central Florida Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) was chartered in the first quarter of 2006 by a group of women from the Greater Orlando area, who are not necessarily pilots but have a love of aviation and wish to see horizons for women expand in aviation and other related industries. The organization was incorporated with nonprofit status in December 2006 and became a full-fledged chapter of WAI in early 2007.
While some of us work for airports and companies that support aviation directly, others participate because of their “after hours” interest in flying and airplanes.
Still others are involved because they recognize the impact that the aviation industry has on the economic growth of Central Florida and want to be involved in that success.
The chapter holds meetings of its executive committee at least once a month if not more, and strives to hold meetings open to the public with a speaker on a topic related to aviation or women’s achievement and motivation, once a month. These public meetings often include a meal and are held at various locations and times of the day in order to enable the greatest number of members and guests to participate. See our schedule of events for upcoming activities!
The chapter is also involved in a number of public service projects to inspire young women to soar to the height of their dreams. Join your local WAI chapter today and help shape our, and your future!
